Then I thought of the five star (*****) system to add more categories. Then again, this system had room for improvement.

Then I heard some rating systems use a 1/2-star increment. I can't figure out how to type half-a-character, so after a long and hard thinking process, I decided to double all the stars and came up with my ultimate rating system...

• 8* -- An All-Time Classic -- as well as a major hit and a critical favorite.
• 7* -- Excellent -- a critical favorite as well as a notable hit.
• 6* -- Underrated -- a critical favorite worth a listen despite the low ranking on the music chart.
• 5* -- Popular -- popular hit, or a favorite from another specialized chart.
• 4* -- Average -- notable, but not much of a favorite or critical importance.
• 3* -- Overrated -- why was this a hit in the first place anyway?
• 2* -- Die Hard -- for true fans of a particular artist or genre of note, but a bomb and a critical disappointment for the talent associated with it.
• 1* -- Gadawful -- a mutual bomb, suitable only for Dr. Demento's Audio Torture Chamber.
• 0* -- Sominex -- no charisma, no personality, just plain boring.
• NR -- Not Rated By Me -- because I never heard of it or heard the song.

  Other Codes

• X-Mix -- Remix version available -- some songs have 7" or 10" dance remixes of songs. There may also be remixes of songs that are not documented by me in my 80s songs list.
